Commission Structure
0.25% per trade
Applied to the notional value of each order executed through your recurring investments. Calculated and charged by Alpaca Securities LLC at the time the order is filled.
What are basis points?
One basis point (bps) equals 0.01%. It's a standard financial industry unit for expressing small percentage rates. For reference: 10 bps = 0.10%, 50 bps = 0.50%, 100 bps = 1.00%.

When Fees Are Charged
The commission is charged per execution — each time a recurring investment triggers and an order is successfully filled.
- Daily investments: commission charged each trading day.
- Weekly investments: commission charged once per week.
- Failed or unexecuted orders (insufficient funds, market closures): no commission charged.
- The commission is included in the order and deducted from the total amount by Alpaca at settlement.
FDIC Sweep Program
Uninvested cash is automatically swept into FDIC-insured deposit accounts at partner banks through Alpaca's cash sweep program, providing FDIC insurance coverage (up to applicable limits).
There is no direct fee for the sweep program. Alpaca may retain a spread on the interest earned — the rate you receive may be lower than the bank rate. This is standard industry practice. Current sweep rates are available from Alpaca Securities LLC.
